PomeranianPomeranian is a descendant of the Spitz dog Families.

It’s named after historical region of Pomerania (today split between Germany and Poland), where they served as sheepherders.

Pomeranian was larger and whiter than it is now. White was usually a large-size dog and breeders selected for a smaller size, also brought out the new popular sable and orange colors.

Since it is natural large breed that has been recently reduced in size, they still acts like ”big dogs”. It will bark unchecked, making it a superb watchdog.

The breed also makes an excellent companion.

Usually tiny, in more colors like red, orange, cream and sable, black, brown and blue, brindle, beaver and white.

They temperament is extroverted, busy, curious, attentive and playful.

This is a family dog, which has a lot of energy, can bark a lot, and need minimal exercise per day but lot of attention.

Life expectancy is 12 to 15 years.

The breed gained popularity after Queen Victoria brought one back from a trip to Italy, and a smaller-size Pomeranian then became more fashionable.
